ServeNext’s second key strategy for candidate engagement is the ServeNext Pledge to Expand National Service.
What exactly is the ServeNext Pledge?
For advocacy organizations like ServeNext, pledges are often presented to candidates by activists to secure individuals’ support for their issue in writing. For ServeNext members, our issue is National Service expansion.

Above, Melissa Paul (NH AmeriCorps ‘07) and Taylor Ferguson (OH AmeriCorps ‘05) proudly display signed ServeNext Pledges to Expand National Service by U.S. Senator Barack Obama and wife Michelle Obama.
Here are a couple of stories about multiple ServeNext members pursuing Presidential candidates with the ServeNext Pledge to Expand National Service during the New Hampshire Primary campaign.
See how easy it is? You can do it, too!

- If you are lucky enough to own a limited edition ServeNext t-shirt, consider having a candidate sign the ServeNext Pledge to Expand National Service synopsis on the back.
